Smith, Ronald Keith (17 May
1944 - 30 July 1970)
Funeral services for Ronald Keith Smith, 26, of
Winneconne, who died July 30, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Methodist
Church in Loyal. The Rev. Conrad Mickelson officiated. Burial was made in the
Loyal Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born May 17, 1944 in Greenwood to Mr. and
Mrs. J. Vernon Smith of Fond du Lac. They lived in the Loyal and Greenwood area
until 1958, and then moved to Arpin.
In 1962 he was graduated from
Auburndale High School and was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing
in Marshfield. He worked at the Winnebago State Hospital for a year and then
entered the Air Force’s nursing corps for three years with the rank of captain.
He later returned to Winnebago State Hospital.
Survivors include: his
parents; three brothers, Arnold of Loyal, Vernon of Greenwood and Eldon of
Arkansas City, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Brown of Colby; and a
grandmother, Mrs. Iva Millard of Loyal.
Mrs. Mavis Rossow sang, “In the
Garden” and “A Closer Walk with Thee,” accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Zepplin.
Pallbearers were: Steven and Larry Brown, Chris Smith, Richard Paulson, Gary and
Lee Millard.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Roycraft Funeral Home
in Loyal.
