Beecher, Lula (10 June 1888 - 9 March 1949)
Funeral services were held March 11, 1949 for Miss Lula Beecher, who passed away Wednesday, March 9, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she had been a patient for several days. Miss Beecher, although in poor health for many years, had lived alone at her home here up to the time she entered the hospital.
The services were conducted by the Rev. Weldon, Stevens Point, pastor of the Church of Christ, of which she had been a member for many years.
Pallbearers were: Floyd Pietenpol, Wendell Crothers, Lloyd Spry, Erhardt Witte, Clay Converse and Lester Yorkston, Neillsville. Interment was made in the Windfall Cemetery.
Miss Lula was born in the Town of York June 10, 1888, the youngest daughter of Rollie and Ida Allen Beecher. While a young child she moved to Granton with her parents and this has been her home all her life.
For 28 years she was an operator at the local telephone exchange and was well known throughout the community. Her surviving relatives are a brother, Wella Beecher, Janesville; two nieces and two nephews. Mrs. Leslie Yorkston is her niece.
