Breed, Hannah (12 AUG 1856 – 30 MAR
1916)
Mrs. Frank Breed, who was taken to an Eau Claire hospital a couple
of weeks ago, died there on Thursday and the remains were brought home for
interment, the funeral occurring Sunday. Mrs. Breed was born Hannah O’Brien on
Aug. 12, 1856, at Merritsville, Canada. She came to Wisconsin in April, 1869,
and was united in marriage to Frank Breed on Dec. 25, 1876. Three children were
born to them, Mary E., Margaret and Robert, all of whom, with their father,
survive the deceased. She is also survived by one brother and one sister, John
O’Brien of town Levis and Mrs. M.D. Zwight of Ferndale, Ore.
Mrs. Breed
was a member of the Congregational church and was a woman who stood high in the
esteem of a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She was a woman of kindly
nature, a splendid wife and mother and an excellent neighbor and her death is
sincerely regretted by all. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. The deceased
was laid to rest Sunday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. Longnecker
and interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
Among those who were
here for the funeral were Mrs. W.E. Secord of Green Bay, Clarence Breed and wife
of Holcomb, Mrs. Emma Duxbury and Mrs. Chas. Gates of Alma Center.
