Cherokee - Mar. 25, 1921
Miss Laura Graumann, who attends school at Wausau is spending the week end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Graumann.
Miss Tillie Weller spent the week end with her folks. She is a student at the Wausau Business Institute.
Elsie Kliefoth gave a party in honor of Miss Winifred Olsen, Sunday night at the Cherokee hall, the occasion being Miss Olsen’s birthday anniversary.
The following students from Colby high school are spending the week at their respective homes; Misses Winifred Olsen, Erma Heintz, Margaret Rein, Mary Sazama, and Messrs. Lawrence Olsen and Ervin ?.
The Hull Equity Local will hold their next regular meeting at Rein’s hall on Saturday evening April 3. Everyone interested in a tubercular teat for cattle are requested to attend.
Lawrence Weix and nephew "Toughie" have opened their sugar camp two miles south of Cherokee. The weather is a trifle too cold for a good run of sap.
Nick Klumkyan, who is a teamster at the local mill was kicked by one of his horses last Saturday. He was laid up several days but is again able to resume his duties.
Misses Elsie Kliefoth, Laura Graumann and Margaret Rein visited the Cherokee school Tuesday afternoon.
The Club’s basket ball team met the Colby High’s on the Cherokee floor. The former team lost by a score 27-24. The referee let the game get pretty rough in the first half which ended in an argument. Every five minutes they put in a fresh man. Steinwand, Fricke and Laabs played the game five minutes and the bench ten. Nevertheless they didn’t push Cherokee off the map as they intended doing. The line up for Cherokee was: Rein, F., Brehm, F., Cappel, Center, Eggebrecht and Kliefoth guards. The Colby line-up: Weix, F., Greb, F., Reyer, Center and Firnstahl Guard with Steinwand, Frick and Laabs playing the other guard.
