Highway Death (Fourth Fatality in 2013)
A car versus
semi crash in the Town of Longwood caused the death of Mara J. Schlief-Trampush,
24, Greenwood.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department
incident report, a 9-1-1 call was received Aug. 28 at 11:05 a.m. reporting the
crash on STH 73 near Cloverdale Road. The initial investigation indicates the
car, being operated by Schlief-Trampush, was traveling northbound on STH 73 as
it approached a semi being driven by Jeffrey J. Moore, 53, Jackson, MI. The semi
was stopped in traffic due to road construction.
The car was unable to
stop in time, striking the rear of the semi. Schlief-Trampush was the sole
occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County
Coroner’s office. No one else was injured in the crash.
The
Owen-Withee-Curtiss Fire and Ambulance Departments and the Wisconsin State
Patrol assisted at the scene. This is the fourth traffic fatality in Clark
County for 2013. The investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s
Department.
