Nine of the 12 members of the class of 1945 of Granton High School and their

Neillsville.

gave recognition to the following: Those who came the longest distance, Elroy
Lehman of Dallas, Tx.; and Curtiss Marg of Fort Walton Beach, Fl., virtually

that Elroy’s mustache and beard should not disqualify him for this honor); most

having grandchildren, Elsie (Spaete) Scholtz, Esther (Pretsch) King and Luella
(Fox) Mauritz; married the longest, Laura Mae (Elmhorst) Wegner (1945); and
married the most recently, Victor McHone, only member of the class whose
children also attended the Granton schools - They are the fourth generation of
the family to attend the Granton School.
Mrs. Mida Warlum of
Neillsville, one of the teachers present, commented that she is now teaching the
children of two of the members, Marie (Daniels) Ratsch and Esther (Pretsch)
King, of Neillsville.
The class prophecy was read by Elroy Lehman, and
the class Will was read by Kenneth Kobs.
The class members stood,
introduced their spouses and gave a brief account of their activities since
graduation. The possibility of holding a joint reunion in the future with
another class or classes or having another reunion of the class in five years
was discussed but no decision was reached.
