Raatz, Josephine (5 February 1914 - 6 August 1970)

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Josephine) Raatz, 56, of Rt. 1 Spencer, who died August 6, were held Saturday, at 2 p.m. from the United Methodist Church in Loyal. The Rev. Conrad Mickelson officiated. Burial was made in the Beaver Cemetery.

Mrs. Raatz was born February 5, 1914, in Unity. She received her education in the rural school in Unity and farmed in the Unity - Spencer area most of her life. She married the late Frank Raatz on August 2, 1939, in Unity. He died August 20, 1958.

Survivors include: a daughter, Louella Raatz of Spencer; and two grandchildren, Dawn and Renee; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Florence) Braun of Rockford, Ill.; and a brother, Glen Stowe of Unity.

Pallbearers were: Ulysses Cain, Delmar Pieper, Donald Wisnosky, Gary Scheel, Eugene Martin and Ralph Goetz. Mrs. Dorothy Prior sang “In the Garden” and “Beyond the Sunset”, accompanied by Mrs. Delores Wolf.

The Roycraft Funeral Home at Loyal was in charge of arrangements.
