Mrs. Walter Bandera and children of Tripoli were guests Sunday at
the Thomas Erickson home.
Mrs. Martha Corbin returned to Milwaukee
Saturday after spending a week with her mother, Mrs. Christ Keiner, and at the
high Severson home. She came to attend the funeral of her brother-in-law
Frederick Gotz, at Pittsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux and family and
Eugene Carteron and children spent Sunday at Hixton.
Mr. and Mrs. Emory
Voie of Fond du Lac spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cook and family and friends from Sauk Village, Ill.,
are visiting at the Donald Cox home and at a cabin at Rock Creek.
Mr.
and Mrs. Leo Fellenz of Shorewood spent the weekend at the home of her mother,
Mrs. John Zepaltas. They were accompanied by their sons, Timothy and Steven and
her sister, Donna Zepaltas, who had spent a week here.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Fultz of Peru, Ind., spent Monday and Tuesday at the Walter Decker home.
Mrs. Alice Perkins and Mrs. Olive Newman spent Sunday with their sister in
Abbotsford.
Mr and Mrs. Charles Ormond of Kennedy, N. Y., are visiting
at the John Ormond home and with other relatives in the area.
Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Plunkett attended his 50 year class reunion of Tomah High School,
held Tuesday evening in Millston.
Colleen Plunkett of La Crosse and Joe
and Ellen Plunkett of Milwaukee are spending several weeks with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plunkett.
Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schwarze
visited recently in Sun Prairie with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Schwarze.
Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske, Mr. and Mrs. David Friske
and family and Mrs. Adelbert Wells helped Ronald Wells celebrate his birthday
Sunday at his home in Marshfield.
Guests Sunday at the home of Mrs.
Alice Speich were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jocekin of Mellen.
Miss Carol
Severson returned to Milwaukee Saturday after spending a 10-day vacation with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Verhulst
spent Sunday and Monday at Hayward, where they attended the Log Rolling Contest.
The Women’s Society of Christian Service will meet Friday afternoon in Grace
United Methodist Church. Hostesses will be Mrs. Florence Schwarze and Mrs. Maud
Huntzicker.
The Adult Fellowship meeting will be held in Zion United
Church Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Abel and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Hendrickson will be hosts.
The American Legion Auxiliary meeting will be
held Monday evening, August 17, in the Legion Hall. Hostesses will be Mrs.
Richard Larson, Mrs. Herbert Laib, Mrs. George Klovas, Mrs. Joseph Kohlnhofer
and Mrs. Donald Lindner.
The Salem Ladies Aid will meet in Zion United
Church August 18. Hostesses will be Mrs. Gust Horn and Mrs. George Poppe.
Martha Querin is spending three weeks with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Querin, in Orlando, Fla.
Children and grandchildren of Mrs.
Adelbert Wells celebrated her birthday at her home Friday with a family
get-together. Those present were Mrs. Norman Fricke and daughter, Faye, of
Whitehall, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wells and family of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs.
Norbert Friske, Bernard Friske, Mr. and Mrs. David Friske and Kimberly, and Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Wells, of Greenwood.
Guests Saturday at the home of Mrs.
Patricia Kelty were Timothy Kolb of Spencer, Mrs. Peter Rueth of Loyal, and Mr.
and Mrs. Calvin Foster of Concord, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Buck of
Waupaca were guests Sunday at the Otto Voie home.
Mr. and Mrs. Ewald
Schwarze spent from Friday until Sunday in Rochester, Minn., at the home of
their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Schwarze.
Miss Monica
Brux left Sunday evening for Madison to spend a week with her sister, Mrs. John
Horton and family.
The Women’s Guild met Thursday afternoon in Zion
United Church. Mrs. Theodore Abel presided. Mrs. Martha Corbin of Milwaukee was
an out-of-town guest. It was decided to raise the donations for lunch to 50
cents. A letter was read informing the group that they would be in line to serve
the meal for the Clark Electric Cooperative annual Meeting in 1974. Mrs. Arthur
Hendrickson, program chairman, gave two readings, “Enthusiasm” and Secret of
Enthusiasm.” Mrs. Hugh Severson read an article on “Happiness” and Mrs. Lee
Corey on “I Can See”. A lunch was served by Mrs. Rose Ludwig and Mrs. Lee Corey.
The next meeting will be held September 3. Hostesses will be Mrs. Hazel Helwig
and Mrs. Theodore Abel. Mrs. Robert Schneider will be program chairman.
The Women’s Guild met in Immanuel United Church Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Leona
Albert was in charge of the program. Mrs. Henry Vollrath will preside at the
meeting. A lunch was served by Mrs. Erwin Toburen and Mrs. Erna Wehrman. The
next meeting will be held September 2. Hostesses will be Mrs. Adolph Wendt and
Mrs. Henry Vollrath.
A family get-together was held Saturday at the
Erwin Toburen home. Dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Goger of Chicago, Mr.
and Mrs. Delmain Toburen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Toburen.
Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Behrens spent the weekend in Madison with their son and daughter,
Dr. Jerome Behrens and Mrs. Cheryl Stillmak, and their families.
