Shields, Rachel (Engagement –1949)

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis W. Shields of South Haven, Mich., announce the engagement of their daughter, to Walter Reed Scott, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess W. Scott, 269 West 5th Street, Neillsville.

Miss Shields is a graduate of the University Of Michigan School Of Nursing. Mr. Scott, a graduate of Neillsville High School and the University of Michigan, is a student at Chicago Theological School of the University of Chicago. During World War II he was in the Navy V-12 program at the University of Wisconsin and then at the University of Michigan. He is now studying to be a minister in the Congregational Church, and has been filling an assistant pastorate in Chicago this past year. The wedding is set for September 9, 1949, in the First Congregational Church, in South Haven, following which the young couple will make their home in Chicago until the completion of Mr. Scott’s course.
