Nestor, Hope (27 JAN 1946)

A pretty home wedding took place Saturday evening, Jan. 27, 1946 at 10 o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Nestor, 16 Second St., Elkins, W.Va., when their daughter Hope became the bride of Wallace Paul Spaulding of Madison, Wis.

The Rev. William B. Ward of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church officiated at the double ring ceremony, which was attended by the immediate family of the bride and a few close friends.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a brown suit with matching accessories, and carried an arm bouquet of sweetheart roses.

Her sister, Mrs. David S. Bennett, was matron of honor. Mr. Bennett was the groom’s best man.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held, after which the couple left for an undisclosed honeymoon.

The bride is a graduate registered nurse from the Memorial School of Nursing, Cumberland, Md.

The groom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Spaulding, formerly of Owen, Wis. (Clark Co., Wis.), is a graduate of the Bedford, Ind., High School, and attended the University of Wisconsin. Until recently he was employed as Research Associate for the Office of Scientific Research and Development at the Allegheny ballistics Laboratories at Pinto, W. Va. He is now an instructor in chemistry at George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and he and his bride will reside in Arlington, Va.
