Miss Francis Marking, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Marking, Owen, Wis. (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Garvin Howard Pusey, Cuba, Ill., nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cluts of Bryant, Ill., in a double ring ceremony, which took place in the English Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, La Crosse, June 9, 1946, at 2 o’clock p.m. Candelabra and bouquets of pink and white flowers decorated the altar before which the vows were read by the Rev. Harold Stoffel. Miss Theresa Marking was organist. Gordon Marking sang "The Lord’s Prayer", and Harriet, Eunice and Bonnie Marking sang, "I Love You Truly."
Attendants were Mrs. Everett Compton, Reedsburg, a sister of the bride, as maid of honor. Miss Evelyn Pusey, Detroit, Mich., a sister of the groom, and Mrs. Don Hutchinson, Tomah Wis.
Howard Cluts, Bryant, Ill., attended the groom. Gordon Marking, Winsted, Minn., and Carl Larson, Tomah, were ushers.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white mousseline de sole frock styled with a train and carried white lilies and a testament. Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught to a tiara of pearls and she wore a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom.
All three of the bride’s attendants wore sheer frocks and carried pink roses. Mrs. Compton wore blue, Miss Pusey, yellow, and Mrs. Hutchinson, blue.
Viewing her daughter’s wedding was Mrs. Marking, in an aqua ensemble, wearing a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Cluts wore black crepe and had a corsage of red roses.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the Carlyle Home, and a six o’clock luncheon at the Mr. and Mrs. George Clarke home.
The bride is a graduate of the Owen public schools, and of the La Crosse State Teachers College. She has been teaching in the Longfellow School in La Crosse for the past year. Her husband is a graduate of public school of Albuquerque, N.M., and has attended the U. of Wisconsin. He has been employed at the La Cross Trailer Co. since his discharge from the U.S. Army, but plans to enter the Milwaukee School of Engineering on July 8th.
The bride and groom are now on a wedding trip touring northern Wisconsin. They will make their future home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
For traveling the bride wore a rose colored suit with black accessories and a corsage of roses.
