Schoenfeld, Emil Martin (5 December 1887 - 28 June 1970)
Funeral services for Emil martin Schoenfeld, 82, of Neillsville, who died
last Sunday, were to be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from St. John’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff was to officiate,
with burial in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr. Schoenfeld was born
December 5, 1887, to Martin and Johanna (Stutz) Schoenfeld in Plymouth. He
received his education in Plymouth and learned the cheesemaking trade and worked
in Buffalo and Marathon counties before coming to Neillsville in March 1913,
when he purchased the York Center Cheese Factory.
He married the former
Mable Turner on October 6, 1915, in the Town of York. They made their home in
the Town of York since that time and purchased the farm, now occupied by his son
Milton, in 1919, and every building on his farm was built by himself.
He
suffered a stroke a year ago (looks like there may be missing information here).
