Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Johnson attended the Golden wedding anniversary observance of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin
Nelson in Taylor Sunday and were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson in
Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lightfoot, Jr., and family and Mrs. Keith
Johnson and children visited Sunday afternoon at the Jake Lightfoot home and
then all had supper in Mrs. Johnson’s home.
Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice spent
from Tuesday until Friday in the Neillsville Hospital for tests and treatment.
She is some better.
Mrs. Claire Enerson of North Branch came Monday
morning to take her mother, Mrs. Arnold Matti, to an Eau Claire hospital for
treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. Mel Markham and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Versal
Markham of Portland, Ore., were guests Wednesday and Thursday of relatives in
Mosinee.
Mrs. Norman Nibbe, Ricky and Vickie and a friend, and Mr. and
Mrs. Greg Ross and Kimberly of Hobart, Ind., came early Saturday morning to
spend two weeks camping and visiting at the Cullen Dignin home.
Names of
survivors of Clarence Hardwick should have included Mrs. Erma Lancaster of San
Ardo, Calif., Mr Dorothy Amport of Corvallis, Ore., and Mrs. Bertha Krieger of
Sun Prairie.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Kirby of Clarksville, Tenn., are visiting
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Kirby, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
larson in Pittsville. Mike Kirby of St. Paul was a weekend guest at the Kirby
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Wold, Gordon and John of Disco were dinner
guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe. Callers there Sunday were Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Haag and son of La Crosse and Mrs. Emma Haag and Leonard of Melrose.
Mrs. Emma Gerber and Mrs. Freida Zerbel, with Mrs. Fred Gerber of Madison,
spent Sunday afternoon at the Willard Stanley home.
William Raymond and
two sons of Deerfield came Sunday to spend the day at the home of his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Al Raymond. One of the boys is staying for a longer visit.
Mrs. Glen Hoeth and Three daughters of Oregon are visiting her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Laffe..
Mrs. Matie Smith has been a patient in the
Neillsville Hospital since last Tuesday.
The Willis Johnson family of
Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Buttke of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Harland
Meyers and family of Cedar Falls spent the weekend at the Polege home. Mr. and
Mrs. Meyers and family also visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyers in
Alma Center.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bryner of Silver Lake were weekend
guests at the John Bryner home.
Over 42 were present at the pre-nuptial
shower held at the Elmer Duerkop home Sunday evening in honor of Marie Martin
and Dennis Ruda. The Happy Hour Homemakers were co-sponsors with Mrs. Duerkop
and served a lunch. The young people received many gifts and good wishes.
A baptismal service was held Tuesday evening at the John Phillips home when
their son Jack’s baby daughter was baptized by Rev. Sassman of Alma Center Grace
Lutheran Church. Her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Phillips, and
great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Allen were present. A lunch was served
following the ceremony.
