Garbisch, Robert Emil (17 April 1885 - 17 July 1949)

Robert Emil Garbisch, 64, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield July 17, 1949 after an illness of two weeks.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 20 at 1:15 p.m. at the Georgas Funeral Home and 2:15 from the Zion American Lutheran Church at Granton. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. The Rev. James Bearns of St. Mathews Lutheran Church of Marshfield officiated.

Mr. Garbisch was born on April 17, 1885, in the Town of Grant to John and Dora Garbisch. On November 27, 1905 he was married at Granton to Amelia Gluch. He was employed by the Milwaukee railroad company prior to his marriage. He farmed in the Town of Grant until 1941. He lived in Chicago for two years and in Marshfield the past six years. He was last employed by the Roddis Company. He was a member of St. Mathews Lutheran Church.

Mr. Garbisch leaves his wife; five children; Mrs. Frank (Erna) Tykac of Marshfield, Ervin Garbisch, Melvin Garbisch, Elmer Garbisch, all of Granton; and Mrs. Renata Skoda of Marshfield; two brothers, Paul Garbisch of Missouri, (the name of second brother not given) and one sister, Mrs. Emma Campbell of Duluth; also 16 grandchildren.

Five sisters and five brothers preceded him in death. They were, Lizzie, Minnie, Martha, Ida, Lydia, Fred, Otto, Herman, George, and Henry.

Pallbearers for Robert Garbisch were: Donald Helm, Norman Helm, Raymond Garbisch, Donald Tykac, Frank Tykac, Jr., and Raymond Gluch. Carol Garbisch, La Vern Garbisch, Bonnie Mae Garbisch, Virginia Tykac and Elaine Garbisch were in charge of the flowers.

Stolper, Fred Schrieber and Mrs. Settie Weinhold of Adell; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Torke and Mrs. Fred Torke, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Romaine, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Tykac and Mr. and Mrs. William Billman, Chili.
