Burzynski, Mr./Mrs. John (Gold – 11 NOV 1964)
Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski of 217 Washington Street, Stanley, were the
guests of honor at a reception in honor of their golden wedding anniversary,
given for them b their children on Saturday, November 7.
The honored
couple began their special day by attending St. Mary’s Czestochowa church in
Junction with their children. The Rev. Edward Sobczyk of Trempeleau officiated
at the 11:00 a.m. mass. Rev. Sobczyk, along with the mass servers, led the
couple to the altar and gave the couple a blessing and also presented them with
gold rosaries, gifts of their children. Bouquets of yellow mums decorated the
altar for the occasion. The four mass servers were their grandsons.
At
noon, a dinner was served in the church parlors, with cover laid for about two
hundred guests. In the afternoon, a dance was held in the Junction hall, with
music by the Jolly Polkateers. Streamers were used to decorate the hall and a
beautifully adorned anniversary cake centered the buffet table, from which
refreshments were served.
Mrs. Burzynski was attired in a teal blue dress
with matching accessories and corsage of yellow roses and carnations with a gold
ribbon. The groom of fifty years ago wore a yellow carnation and gold leaf in
the lapel of his black suit. They received a purse of money and several other
gifts, also a religious gold picture and gold rosaries, all gifts from their
children.
The former Anna Kowalski and John Burzynski were married on
November 10, 1914, at St. Hedwig’s, Thorp. They farmed 45 years in the town of
Thorp until six years ago, when they moved into the city of Stanley upon their
retirement. They are members of St. Mary’s Czestochowa church. The honored
couple has eleven children, all of whom were present along with their families.
They are as follows: Mrs. Victor (Mary) Depa of Chicago; Mrs. Ted (Anna)
Liszewski of Stanley; Mrs. Len (Frances) Buzinski of Chicago; Andrew of Chicago;
Mrs. Victor (Clara) Konieczny of Chicago; Mrs. Al (Martha) Wrobel of Chicago;
Mrs. Joseph (Julia) Leganski of Chicago; Mrs. Joseph (Celia) Dedehan of Chicago;
Mrs. Adam (Theresa) Staron of Bellwood, Illinois; Mrs. Emily Burzynski of
Chicago and Edmund of Thorp. There are thirty-give grandchildren.
Guests
present were from Chicago, Illinois, Bellwood, Illinois, Elmhurst, Illinois, St.
Paul, Minnesota, Greenwood, Withee, Owen, Lublin, Thorp and Stanley.
