Schelling, Lynda Marlene (Marriage - 15 August 1970)
A 7:30 p.m.
candlelight service was the scene of Lynda Marlene Schelling, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Gilbert Schelling of Rt. 1 Granton, who was united in marriage to Roger
Allen Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Hansen of Rt. 1 Marshfield, Saturday
at Calvary Bible Church in Marshfield. The Rev. Donald Huffmier performed the
double-ring ceremony in the presence of 300 guests.
The bride wore a
white floor-length Edwardian-style gown of organza and Chantilly lace, with
venise lace motifs and solid pink ribbon trim. It had a chapel-length train with
pink ribbon trim. The headpiece, of organza petals and pearl seeds, held a
four-tier bouffant veil. She carried a colonial-style bouquet of pink roses and
white carnations, with a long satin ribbon, as she was escorted to the altar by
her father.
Miss Connie Schelling of Granton was maid-of-honor. Sandra
Meissner of Chili and Kay Custer of Stratford were bridesmaids. Tammy Hansen of
Marshfield was junior bridesmaid. They wore pale pink organza-over-taffeta
empire gowns, with short, puffed sleeves overlaid with lace. The lace bodices
were accented with pink ribbon and the dresses ended in lace border. They wore
four-tier pink bow headpieces, and carried colonial-style bouquets of hot pink
carnations and white daisies, accented with pink ribbon.
Dennis Opelt of
Neillsville was bestman. Ronnie Schelling of Granton and Dale Congdon of Groton,
N. Y. were groomsmen. Edwin Meissner of Chili sang, accompanied by Tom Goetz of
Marshfield. Timothy Smith of Brockport, N. Y., was junior groomsman. Dick and
Daniel Schmitz of Neillsville were ushers.
A reception was held at the
Calvary Bible Church basement, with 300 guests attending.
The bride
graduated from Marshfield High School in 1968 and is employed at Figi’s Inc. as
a key punch operator. The groom graduated from the same high school in 1968 and
is a 1970 graduate of Midstate Technical Institute of Wisconsin Rapids. He is
employed in farming.
After a wedding trip to South Dakota the couple will
make their home on Rt. 1 Marshfield.
