Ewert, Delma (11 Aug. 1906 - 11 June 1999)
Delma A. Ewert, 92, of 1600 N. Fig Ave., died at 12:05 a.m. June 11, 1999, at St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit where she was admitted on June 1, 1999.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel, pastor, officiating. Helen Brinkmann will be the organist for St. John’s Church Funeral Choir.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mrs. Ewert’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rembs-Kundinger Chapel and again from 12:30 p.m. until service time Monday at the church. St. John’s Parish Prayer Service, combined with the Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary Service, will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Delma was born Aug. 11, 1906, in Rozellville to Math and Minnie (nee Greiner) Weber. She was educated at St. Andrew’s Parochial School in Rozelville.
She was married to Oscar F. Ewert on Feb. 15, 1926, at Gesu Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They resided in Milwaukee for a few years and then relocated to Unity. In 1944, they moved to Marshfield where she had resided since.
Mrs. Ewert was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and its Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Surviving are her son, Robert (Judy) Ewert of Kalispell, Mont.; daughters, Beverly (Jerome) Curtin of Marshfield, Shirley Bruesewitz of Unity, Dianne Bauer of Colfax, Marion (Rudy) Krane of Port Richey, Fla., and Maxine (Neil) Peterson of Stevens Point. She is further survived by 26 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence Brost of Florida and Helen McGuire of Mosinee.
She was predeceased by her husband on Nov. 6, 1972; one son, Dennis Ewert in 1969; her parents, four brothers and one sister.
