Maki, Lilly #2 (29 JUN 1946)
June 29, 1946, at 2 p.m. in the Finnish Lutheran Church of Owen, Miss Lilly Maki, daughter of Matt Maki, exchanged marriage vows with Elwin Kile, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Kile of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), in a double ring ceremony, with Rev. L. C. Bundgaard officiating. The Wedding march was played by Daniel Arola. Mrs. Daniel Arola and Irene Halme sang "I Love Your Truly."
Given in marriage by her father Matt Maki, the bride was wearing a white satin gown, with net overskirt, pearled designed bodice, with a long train. Her fingertip veil of net was trimmed with orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of white lilies, tea roses and swansonia, and wore pearls, a gift of the groom.
Miss Felecia Frankiewicz, friend of the bride, was maid of honor, wearing a white net over satin skirt. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations and roses.
Miss Betty Maki, bridesmaid, was wearing a light blue eyelet. She also carried a colonial bouquet identical to the maid of honor’s. They both wore bonnets as their headdress.
The groom’s attendants, Lawrence Kile, brother of the groom, and Edwin Niemi, cousin of the bride, wore dark dress suits.
Mrs. Kile, the groom’s mother, wore a dressy black dress with accessories, and had a corsage of tea roses and swansonia.
A reception was held at the church for 100 guests. Blue, pink and white streamers and cut flowers decorated the parlors. A three-tiered wedding cake, topped with an ornament, decorated the bride’s and groom’s table.
A wedding supper was served at the groom’s parents home at 8 p.m.
Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dias Markee and family of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. George Alick and children of St. Paul, Minn.
