Diercks, Clara (20 January 1894 - 30 September 1949)
Mrs. William Diercks, 55, died at her home in the Town of York on Friday, September 30, 1949.
Funeral services were held on Monday at the Georgas Funeral Home and from the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Christie. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
The Rev. Alfred Schewe of Withee officiated. Clara Zickert was born on January 20, 1894, at Watertown, Wis. She came to Clark County with her parents in 1901. They lived on farms in the Towns of Weston and Beaver. She received her education in the rural and parochial schools. On November 3, 1915 she was married to William Diercks at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Neillsville. They purchased a farm in the Town of York, where they spent their entire married life. Mrs. Diercks has been in ill health since 1922.
Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Mrs. Leonard (Vera) Drescher, Mrs. Walter (Erna) Seibold both of Neillsville, and Mrs. Herbert (Marie) Hinkelman of Loyal; also her aged mother, Mrs. Amelia Zickert, four grandchildren, two sisters, and one brother, Mrs. Ted (Ella) Schlinkert, Mrs. William (Hattie) Roehl and Frank Zickert, all of Neillsville.
