Mr. Wm Zassenhaus of Colby was a caller Thursday.
Mr. A. Braun of Loyal called here Thursday.
Blanch Ring came home Thursday for a short visit.
Herbert Clute of Greenwood, was in the city Friday.
Walt Smith from the North called on us Saturday,
Maude Scoville went to Baraboo Saturday.
M. Blum went to Cleveland, Wis., last week.
Mrs. Allie Birge has been sick the past few days but is improving now.
Mrs. Gwin of Loyal, is visiting with Mrs. Wilcox this week.
Fred Balch has accepted a position as traveling salesman for a clothing house.
Judge O’Neill returned from Eau Claire last Wednesday.
J. D. Stannard sold his grocery store to O. B. Spellman of Viroqua. Mr. Spellman takes possession March 20. Mr. Stannard is going on the road as salesman for a new coffee pot.
Mr. A. M. White of Greenwood was a visitor last week.
Mrs. Eagles is quite sick at present, but not dangerous.
Ernest Lee of Granton was a welcomed caller Saturday.
Mr. Matt Kapelian is repainting and shelving the rooms on the east end of his store and stocking it with shoes.
The entertainment given Monday evening by Miss Amanda Kidder, under the auspices of the Women’s Club of this city, could be no better. It was all the more than could be expected. Though the weather was very unpleasant, yet she had a good crowd. Should she ever come again, she would need no advertisement other than that she is coming.
Frank A. Morgan, humorist, entertained a large crowd at the Congregational Church Wednesday evening.
It is understood that Frank McGinnis will be a candidate for the nomination of county superintendent on the Republican ticket. Mr. McGinnis is a young man of excellent character and refined disposition. His ability will not be questioned and his education not challenged. He has a state certificate, has attended normal school and has taught for some time in the county. He believes in education, loves children, and is always advancing.
