Joyce, William Edward (5 November 1891 - 14 November 1970)

Funeral services for William Edward Joyce, 79, of Rt. 1 Greenwood, who died November 14, were conducted Wednesday, November 18, at 2 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Melvin Nickel of the United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

He was born November 5, 1891, at Columbus, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Karow) Joyce. He came to Clark County with his parents in 1901. The family settled on a farm in the Town of Weston. Mr. Joyce was educated in the Forman School there and in the Columbus schools. Until the time of his death, he lived on the same farm his father had owned.

Mr. Joyce was married at Neillsville on October 11, 1916, to the former Vera Holt, who survives him. Other survivors include four children, Mrs. E. A. (Alice) Peterson of Muskegon, Mich.; William Joyce, Jr. of Greenwood; Wilbur Joyce of Loyal; and Walter Joyce of Dayton, O. He is further survived by a sister, Mrs. John (Laura) Meyers of Marshfield, and by 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
