Walker, Jessie G. (13 June 1887 - 11 November 1970)
Funeral services
for Mrs. Jessie G. Walker, 83, a resident of Memorial Home who died November 11,
were held from the Fairchild Methodist Church on Friday, November 13, at 2:30
p.m. The Rev. Wayne Lura officiated and burial was made in the Fairchild
Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs.
Walker was born on June 13, 1887, in Clark County to Jacob and Cecelia (Markam)
Flick. She was educated in Clark County schools. On May 8, 1907 she was married
to Morton Wesley Walker. They farmed in the Fairchild-Humbird area until Mr.
Walker’s death in 1953. She made her home for a time with her children, residing
for the past several years at Memorial Home.
Survivors include 10
children: the Rev. Ralph Walker, Augusta; Melvin Walker, Humbird; Mrs. Lloyd
(Zora) Sentek, Vesper; Bervil (Bud) Walker, Fairchild; Mrs. Alvin (Charlotte)
Durham, Milwaukee; Manley Walker, Prairie Farm; Clifford Walker, Humbird; Seth
(Jack) Walker, Burden, Kans.; Mrs. Jerry (Reta) Koranda, Neillsville; and Mrs.
Eugene (Wanita) Diercks, Vesper. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs.
Tessie Langworthy of Eau Claire and Mrs. George (Mildred) Boyer of Neillsville,
and one brother, Vernon Flick of De Soto, and by 41 grandchildren and 80
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Duane Walker, Archie Walker,
Conrad Walker, Dale Walker, Keith Durham, and Bernard Sentek. Music was provided
by Mrs. William Theiler.
Friends and relatives attending the service came
from Humbird, Augusta, Fall Creek, Vesper, Wisconsin Rapids, Eau Claire,
Altoona, Milwaukee, Cedar Grove, Thorp, Greenwood, Prairie Farm, Fairchild,
Neillsville, Willard, Barron, Coon Rapids, Minn., Rockford, Ill., Burden, Kans.,
Des Plaines, Ill., Mount Prospect, Ill., Arlington, Tex., Gary Ind., and St.
Paul, Minn.
