Millard, Norman Jay (20 January 1955 - 8 October 2008)

Norman Jay Millard, 53, of Neillsville and formerly of Alma Center died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, as the result of a semi-truck accident, which happened near Nodine, MN, and also claimed the life of his wife, Anna Michelle Millard.

Norman was born January 20, 1955, in Neillsville to Gyle and Eunice (Neset) Millard. He was raised in the Alma Center area.

He was a former co-owner of the Millard Brothers Christmas Trees of Alma Center and had been involved in the Christmas tree industry most of his life. He was currently employed as an over-the-road semi-truck driver. He also was talented as a carpenter, electrician and plumber.

Norman married Anna Michelle Green January 27, 1992. They first lived in Alma Center before settling in Neillsville six years ago. He enjoyed being with his family, reading and helping people. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two children from a previous marriage; four minor children from his marriage to Anna; brothers, Warren (Darlene) Millard of Alma Center and Kirby (Mary Lou) Millard of Augusta; sisters, Jean (Everett) Turner of Alexandria, MN, Nadeen (Dennis) McCredden of Kenosha, Heidi (Larry) Golz of Chippewa Falls, Susan Millard of Kenosha and Lori (David) Hughart and Kolene Schnitzler, both of Alma Center; and nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

Norman was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gyle and Eunice Millard, and a sister, Donna Millard.

Joint services for Norman Jay Millard and Anna Michelle Millard were held Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 11 a.m. from the District One Community Center, rural Black River Falls. Burial was in the Oxbow Cemetery, rural Melrose.

Family and friends were invited for visitation Monday, October 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, and at the community center Tuesday from 10 a.m. until services.
