Pawlukiewicz, Walter L. (August 10, 1922 - October 12, 2008)

Walter L. Pawlukiewicz, 86, Withee died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the Oakwood Villa, Altoona.

Visitation for Walter will be from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 15 until time of services at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Walter will be Wednesday, October 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Benjamin Franklin will preside. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in the Town of Hixon.

Grandchildren Ryan Gay, Jessica Devine, Jennifer Gay, Joshua Pawlukiewicz, Mariah Bakken and Marissa Bakken will serve as pallbearers.

Walter was born August 10, 1922, in Lublin to Frank and Mary (Pomietlo) Pawlukiewicz.

He married Matilda Karabe on June 13, 1953, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin.

Walter owned and operated Withee Oil Company from 1956 until his retirement. He was very involved in community affairs, in his church (Holy Rosary) and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed Polkas.

He is survived by his four children, Terry (Joy) Pawlukiewicz, Withee, Dan Pawlukiewicz, Owen, Jean (Steve) Gay, Altoona and Julie (Michael) Bakken, Menomonie; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother Frank Paulukiewicz, Waterford.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; wife Tillie; and two brothers.

Maurina - Schilling Funeral Home, Abbotsford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
