Johnson, John E. (7 March 1871 - 27 November 1949)

Greenwood - John E. Johnson, 78, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday, November 27, 1949, at his home four miles northeast of Greenwood.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the United Lutheran Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Theodore Nelson officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born in Sweden, March 7, 1871. He was married to Anna Johnson at Loyal on July 4, 1902.

He came to the United States at the age of 16. The Johnson family has resided at the present home for more than 30 years.

He is survived by one son, Delmond, and one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Ella) Jollivette, both of Greenwood. Four grandchildren also survive and one brother, Oluf Johnson of Greenwood and one sister, Anna of California.

A sister, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) McMahon, and a brother, Peter Johnson, preceded him in death.
