Matthews, Encie (18 August 1898 - 1 December 1949)
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 6, 1949, at 2 p.m. at the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Albert Matthews, who died at the Sacred Heart Hospital at Eau Clarie on Thursday at 11:45 p.m. Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Encie Carter was born to Eddie and Lennie Carter on August 18, 1898. She spent her entire life in Clark County and received her education in the rural schools of Clark County and Neillsville High School.
On April 28, 1933, she was married to Albert Matthews at Neillsville.
She is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. Robert (Lulabel) Prochazka, and one brother, Hubert Carter, both of Neillsville.
Her mother preceded her in death in 1923 and her father in 1945.
