Rose, Ida May (1 May 1871 - 17 December 1949)

Mrs. Ida May Rose, 78, of West Fifth Street died December 17, 1949.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at the Georgas Funeral Home, Rev. N. J. Dechant officiating. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Ida May Southard was born May 1, 1871, to Mr. and Mrs. Asa Southard at Bradford, Maine. She came to Clark County with her parents at the age of seven. They located on a farm in the Town of Pine Valley. She received her education in the Mound School. On August 14, 1893, she was married to Charles Rose at Neillsville. Five children were born. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Hugh (Bessie) Selves, Madison; Charles Earl Rose, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Thomas (Gladys) Gillard, Neillsville; Sadie Siewert of Madison; also one brother, Warren Southard, Neillsville, and one sister, Mrs. Elmer Jennings, Aberdeen, Wash.; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Congregational Church and a resident of Clark County for 70 years.

Mr. Rose preceded her in death in 1904; also one daughter, Helen, one sister and four brothers.
