Southard, Warren A. (17 July 1874 - 25 December 1949)

Warren Southard of South Court Street died December 25, 1949, at 9:30 a.m. at the Vernie Gergen residence, where he made his home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. Rev. Carl L. Petty officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Southard was born July 17, 1874, at Bedford, Me., to Asa and Helen Townsend Southard. He came to Clark County with his parents at the age of five, and has been a resident here since. He received his education in the Lapp School. He worked as a blacksmith in various logging camps and in later years was employed by the city.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Adella) Jennings of Aberdeen, Wash., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. John (Lena) Southard of Marshfield. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were: Gust Holtz, Robert Prochazka, Arthur Wilding, Lee Allen, Nathan Riphenburg and Bernard Dodte.
