In a quiet wedding taking place at the First Methodist church of Salinas, Cal., on Friday, July 2, at 4 p.m. Miss Helen Marguerite Hull of Augusta, Ga., became the bride of Lt. James Richard Colby of Loyal and Fort Ord, Cal. The impressive double ring ceremony was used, with the Rev. J. D. Ewan officiating.
The bride wore a two-piece suit of white summer linen, with white accessories, and a corsage of gardenias.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noble A. Hull of Forrest Hills, Augusta, Ga. Her maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Osterman of St. George, Ga. Her paternal grandparents are the late Judge J. H. Hull and Mrs. Hull of Augusta. She is a graduate of Tubman high school and Junior college of Augusta and Vanderbilt university of Nashville, Tenn.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Colby of Loyal. His maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip H. White of Loyal. His paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Colby of Crystal Lake, Ill. Lieutenant Colby is a graduate of Loyal high school and attended the University of Wisconsin. He is a first lieutenant in the Medical Administrative Corps, United States Army, now undergoing special training at Fort Ord, Cal. He was formerly stationed at Camp Gordon, Augusta, Ga.
For the present, Lieutenant and Mrs. Colby will make their home in Carmel, Cal.
The Loyal Tribune joins friends of the newlyweds in wishing them a happy wedded life.
