Seefluth, Walter F. (23 MAY 1887 - 27 JUL 1943)
Walter Frederick Seefluth, 56, died at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 27. His death was caused by heart trouble and its complications.
He was born in Outagamie county on May 23, 8887, and lived on a farm in that county until his marriage to Emma Brockhaus on May 19, 1920, at Appleton. Following their marriage, they came to Clark county (June, 1920) and settled in the town of Beaver. They lived there until about a year ago when they moved to a farm in the town of Sherman, about five miles east of Loyal.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Pvt. Marvin Seefluth of Camp Forrest, Tenn., Pvt. Ralph Seefluth of Fort Ord, Cal., and Allen, at home; and by one daughter, Leatrice, at home. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Sachs and Mrs. Herman Forester of Seymour, Mrs. Scott Sickels of Marshall and Mrs. A. H. Christie of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held in the South Green Grove Lutheran church Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, following a short service at the house. The Rev. M. Goetsch of Curtiss officiated.
Mr. Seefluth had been an overseas veteran of World War 1, He was a member of the Loyal American Legion post and was given a military funeral. The many people coming from near and far to pay their last respects to the departed, showed the high esteem in which he was held by those who knew him. Those who served as pallbearers were Joseph Schultz, Joseph Pachal, Hugo Schutte, Walter Schuette, Martin Roidt and Frank Degenhardt. Those who carried the flowers were Mrs. Joseph Schultz, Mrs. Joseph Pachal, Mrs. Hugo Schuette, Mrs. Walter Schuette and Mrs. Frank Degenhardt.
Out of town relatives who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sachs, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Forester, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Colin, Roman Sachs and Mrs. Roy Peotter of Seymour; Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Christie of Milwaukee; Walter Brockhaus, Herman and Ernie Brockhaus, Mrs. Martha Henry, Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Rundhammer, August Knoll, Mrs. Gust, Arthur and Herbert Knoll, Mrs. George Huele, Miss Mable Knoll and Mrs. Henry Schwalbach of Appleton; Mrs. Alma DeCremer of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Stammer and William Stammer of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Thieme of Spencer; Mrs. Isabelle Molle and daughter Gloria and Verland of Chicago; and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Sickles and Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Redeman of Marshall.
