Neitzel, Ernst E. (8 Aug. 1910 - 16 Oct. 2008)

OWEN -- Ernst E. Neitzel, 98, of Owen, formerly of the town of Hoard, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Curtiss. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Curtiss.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hemer Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

He was born Aug. 8, 1910, in the town of Holway to Charles and Caroline (Ried) Neitzel. He married Adeline Hamm on Sept. 23, 1936, at Dorchester, Wis. He farmed in the town of Hoard from 1934 until his retirement in 1972. While farming he did wood work and operated a blacksmith shop. He also did custom plowing and baling of hay for farmers.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Adeline Neitzel of Clark County Health Care Center; daughter, Vera (Bruce) Jensen, Dorchester; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters, Anne Hamus, Colby, Mildred Hamm, Curtiss; and one brother, Walter "Pete" Neitzel, West Plains, Mo.
