Fortuna, Agnes (21 January 1896 - 27 August 1970)

Miss Agnes Fortuna, 74, Trevor, a former Willard and Greenwood resident, died at 6 a.m. last Thursday at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where she had been admitted 17 days before.

She was born January 21, 1896, in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Kershisnik) Fortuna. She came to the United States, when a child with her parents. They settled in Rock Springs, Wyo., and moved to Willard in 1911. They lived there until 1948 and then for a short time in Willard and Greenwood, before going to Trevor, with her mother. She had resided there since. She was never married.

Miss Fortuna is survived by two brothers, Louis of Willard, and John of Trevor; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Slemec of Owen, Mrs. John (Anne) Fortuna of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Mrs. Andrew (Mary) Savage of Berwyn, Ill.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. from the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. Michael Mertens officiated. Burial was made in the Holy Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Anton Prebil, John Perme, Alvin Kaltinger, Joe Bayuk, William Bayuk and Edward Bayuk.
