Hansen, Augusta (15 JUL 1858 - 18 JUN 1947)
Final rites were read by the Rev. L. C. Bundgaard and Chris Stockholm for Mrs. Augusta Hansen Sunday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Madsen at 2 o’clock and at 2:30 from the Danish Lutheran Church. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jens Beck, Jens A. Jensen, Andrew Olsen, Sam Andersen, V. A. Hansen and Sigurd Sorensen.
Flower girls were Mrs. Carl Dampker, Mrs. Thyra Andreasen, Mrs. V. A. Hansen, Mrs. Sigurd Sorensen, Miss Dorothy Nielsen and Miss Alfa Holm.
Mrs. Augusta Hansen had been in failing health since the first part of December. She passed away at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 3 days. Her husband preceded her in death six eyars and seven months ago. Mrs. Hansen was born in Sjoland, Denmark, July 15, 1858, where she grew up to womanhood. On May 2, 1889, she was united in marriage to Hans c. Hansen. This union was blessed with six children, two of whom preceded their parents in death. In 1892, with their two infant daughters, they immigrated to America, making their home in Rhinelander for eight years. In 1900 they moved to Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), where they lived on a farm for 26 years, then moving to a home near the Danish Lutheran Church, where they resided until the death of her husband and son, then she has made her home with daughters. She was a faithful member and willing worker of the Danish Lutheran Church and Ladies’ Aid. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and loved ones.
Those from out of town attending the services were, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dickhaut, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Galli and children, Tonette, Dick and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dickhaut and daughter Ann, all of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hansen and children, Paul and Phyllis of St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Todd of Minneapolis, Minn. Her son Carl, of Klamath Falls, ore., was unable to attend.
Her passing away will be mourned by her two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Ann) Dickhaut of Chicago, Mrs. Albert (Thora) Madsen of Withee, two sons, Alfred of St. Paul, Minn., and Carl of Klamath Falls, Ore.; two sons-in-law; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
