Lois M. (14 JUL 1929 - 20 AUG 2013)
Lois M. Worchel, 84, Spencer, passed
away on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, with her
loving family by her side. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday,
Aug. 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Rev. David M. DePaoli officiated.
Burial followed in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Brighton.
Pallbearers were Derek Miner, Everett Mueller, Greg Gronski Jr., Richard Theune,
Jeron Gronski and Loren Theune.
Lois Habhegger was born on July 14, 1929,
in Loyal, the daughter of John and Anna (nee Zuege) Habhegger. She graduated
from Loyal High School in 1947 as class valedictorian. After completing her
education, she worked at Citizens State Bank, Loyal and Granton stations. She
married Carl G. Worchel on June 7, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.
They farmed in the town of Sherman until 1968 when they moved to Spencer. Lois
then worked at the Spencer State Bank for 30 years, retiring as head teller in
1998. As a member of Trinity Lutheran Church she sang in the choir, taught
Sunday School
for many years, served in the Ladies’ Aid, and worked at the
Bethesda Thrift Store in Wausau. She volunteered as a reading tutor for
second-graders at school and helped at the Spencer Food Pantry. Lois loved
gardening and sharing the harvest with neighbors and family.
Lois is
lovingly survived by one daughter, Margaret (Greg) Gronski, Pittsville; her
grandchildren, Derek Miner, Jeff (Robin) Gronski, Carmen (Everett Mueller)
Richardson, Greg (Amy) Gronski Jr., and Kara (Richard) Theune; nine
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine
Kronberger, Loyal; two nephews, Robert Kronberger and Jerry Worchel; and one
niece, Judy Forcier.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband, Carl, in 1998; two brothers-in-law, La Verne Kronberger and Harold
Worchel; a sister-in-law, Florence Worchel; and a niece, Joyce Golba.
Memorials may be designated in Lois’ name to Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer,
Lutheran Hour Ministries, or the House of the Dove, Marshfield.
Special

Saint Joseph’s Hospital staff on 6 North and 7 North, Golden Living Three Oaks,
and the House of the Dove for the care and compassion shown to Lois and her
family.
