Religiously he is affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Mr. Goeltz was born in Pickett in Winnebago county on Sept. 30, 1893, and came to Colby in 1906. His father operated a woodworking and blacksmith shop here. His marriage to the former Mae E. Bradley took place at Pickett on June 28, 1922.

Mr. and Mrs. Goeltz are the parents of two children, Frank W. Goeltz, Colby, and Mrs. William Neitzel, town of Hull, and have four grandsons and four granddaughters.

Postmasters under whom Goeltz served included Mike Stieber, the incumbent; Sherman Loos, a former acting postmaster, Anton X. Umhoefer, who retired in 1955 after nearly 20 years of service, and A. M. Steinwand.
