Waldhauser, Robert A. (17 SEP 1930 - 25 OCT 2008)
Robert A. Waldhauser, 78, Loyal, died on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass od Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Chester Osowski officiated,\. Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. His sons and son-in-law served as pallbearers.
Robert Andrew Waldhauser was born on Sept. 17, 1930, in Elgin, Ill., to Andrew and Catherine (nee Wolkerstorfer) Waldhauser. He was raised and educated in Elgin until his later teen years, at which time his family moved to the Loyal area and farmed. He completed his education in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in 1949. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1953, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He returned to Loyal and married Ruby Redig on April 22, 1957, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He farmed his entire life in the town of Loyal and also worked at Kobiske Welding and Roth Manufacturing. He retired in the mid-1990s. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family, collecting coins, reading, attending John Deere toy shows, and square dancing in his younger days.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Ruby, Loyal; 14 children, Mike (Pat) Waldhauser, Loyal, Jim Waldhauser, Wausau, Dale Waldhauser, Loyal, Laurie (Doug) Winger, Milton, Margie (Ken) Gawenda, Osseo, Cathy Waldhauser, Waukegan, Ill., Mary (Dave) Wilson, Colby, Andy Waldhauser, Loyal, Chuck (Debbie) Waldhauser, Indianapolis, Ind., Ken (Diane Waldhauser, Loyal, Paul Waldhauser, Loyal, Carrie (Steve) Troutt, Spencer, Kim Waldhauser, Wausau, and Aaron (friend Lynn Lulloff) Waldhauser, Loyal; 17 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Larry (Marie) Waldhauser, Fridley, Minn., Norman (Mardene) Waldhauser, Sussex, and Raymond Waldhauser, Pahrump, Nev.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his twin brother, Andrew; and one grandson, Bobby Wilson.
