St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) was the scene of a lovely fall wedding ceremony, Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18, 1947, when Rev. Walter Schedler read the nuptial ceremony uniting Patricia Phillips, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Phillips, and Freddie Dicks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dicks, in marriage.
Attending the young couple were Virginia Zajac, as bridesmaid and Raymond Venet, as best man.
The bride wore a grey wool dress with matching accessories while her attendant wore a blue suit with matching accessories. Each carried bouquets of chrysanthemums.
A reception was later held at the home of the groom’s parents attended by numerous guests. The home was decorated with crepe streamers of blue, white and pink set off with occasional baskets of flowers. Later that evening a wedding dance was given for the couple at the Clark Community Hall.
Guests attending eht wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sawall, Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kahler, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Colby and family, Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. George Banks and Harvey Phillips, Holland, Michigan; Mr. Lawrence Phillips, Battle Creek, Michigan.
