Teatz, August (17 February 1861 - 8 February 1950)
August Teatz passed away February 8, 1950 at Sullivan, Wis. Survivors are his wife, and two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Furlong, Schofield, Wis., and Mrs. Hilda Campbell, Sullivan, Wis., fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Teatz was born in Germany February 17, 1861, and came to the United States with his parents seven years later and settled in the Town of Concord, Jefferson County, Wis. There he was married to Emma Groose, and shortly after moved to Lynn, Clark County, Wis., where he cleared a farm and lived for about thirty years. Then sold out, and moved to the Town of Summit, Waukesha County, Wis., and lived there about thirty years. The last three years were spent at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Campbell, near Sullivan, Wis. A brother, Robert Teatz, Granton, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Kilts, Watertown, survive.
A son and two daughters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 13, 1950, at the Golden Lake Lutheran Church, and burial was in the church cemetery there. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Deegan, Greenwood, Wis., attended the services.
