Voight, Adolph (24 November 1885 - 9 September 1970)

Funeral services for Adolph Voight, 84, of Loyal who died September 9, were held last Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. William Humlie officiated. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Mr. Voight was born November 24, 1885, in Manitowoc, and then moved to Nasonville as a child with his parents. He married the late Hildagard Fischer on August 14, 1910, in Nasonville. They lived in Cark and Wood Counties and he worked as a cheesemaker and farmed in that area. They moved to the Loyal, where he owned a cheese factory and later a tavern.

Survivors include four sons and four daughters: Arthur of Edgar, Leland of Wheeling, Ill., Elroy of Campbellsport, Adolph, Jr., of Carpentersville, Ill., Mrs. Harry (Adeline) Frantz of Osceola, Mrs. Lynn (Bonita) Ketchpaw of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Walter (Vivian) Verhalen of Dousman and Mrs. Joseph (Alvera) Zilk of Wind Lake; 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Mark Verhalen, Bart Zilk, Lynn, Elroy, Jr., Art and Allen Voight. Mrs. Verland Dux and Mrs. Erwin Noeldner sang, “Nearer My God to Thee” and “Under His Wings” accompanied by Mike Tucker.
