Dux, Patricia (Marriage - 29 April 1950)
St. John’s Lutheran Church was the scene of the marriage Saturday, April 29, at 3 o’clock, of Miss Patricia Dux, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred H. Dux, to Duane C. Anding, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anding of Granton. Rev. Alfred Schewe performed a double ring ceremony before an altar banked with flowers.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white slipper satin gown, fashioned with a round net yoke and long pointed sleeves. The skirt front had alternate rows of lace and satin ruffles; the back formed a long lace-edged train. She wore a finger tip veil which fell from a beaded tiara. She carried a colonial bridal bouquet of pastel gladiolus, stephanotis and white plumes.
Miss Lila Hansen, maid of honor, wore a lilac taffeta gown. Mrs. Evelyn Anderson, sister of the bride, and Miss Gertrude Tresmer, friend of the bride, as bridesmaids, wore nile green and yellow, respectively. The attendants’ gowns were fashioned with drop shoulders, fitted bodices and hoop skirts. They wore sweetheart bonnets to match their gowns. They carried colonial bouquets of yellow and white daffodils.
The groom was attended by Richard Eibergen of Granton, Alfred Anderson of Racine and Walter Helm of Granton. Henry Dyer of Viroqua and Robert Gress acted as ushers. Miss Darlene Bailey, an instructor in St. John’s Lutheran school, sang "O Perfect Love".
The young couple left on a two weeks’ honeymoon in Minnesota, North and South Dakota. After May 15 they will be at home at Granton, Route 2.
A wedding reception was held for 100 guests in the Lutheran school parlors immediately following the ceremony. A wedding dinner was served at the Merchants Hotel for immediate relatives, followed by a dance at the Silver Dome.
April 29 was also the twenty-seventh wedding anniversary of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dux.
The bride graduated from Neillsville High School with the Class of 1949.
The groom finished Granton High School with the class of ‘47 and attended River Falls State Teachers College for one year. He is now employed at farming.
Guests from out of town attending the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sturgeon, Neshkoro; Frank Anding, Jr., Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Hansen, Marshfield; Richard Anding, Altoona; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Friske, Mondovi; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wells, Mrs. Adelbert Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske, Greenwood; Henry Dyer and Patricia Stephens, Viroqua.
