Apfel, John (7 June 1868 - 9 May 1950)
Funeral services for John Apfel, 81, a resident of the Neillsville area for the last 29 years, will be held from the Bergemann Funeral Home, at 2 p.m. Friday.
The services will be conducted by the Rev. Virgil Nulton, and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home starting Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Apfel, who suffered an extended illness, died at his home on South Hewett Street at 4 p.m. Tuesday. He was born on June 7, 1868, in Rock County, Wisconsin, where he received his education and was married to Esther Wright in 1893, who survives. Surviving is a son, Legare Apfel of the Town of Levis and a grandson.

Services were held at the Bergemann Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. for John Apfel, 81, who died at his home Tuesday. The Rev. Virgil Nulton officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Guy Schultz, Fred Wall, Joe Cardarelle, Tony Handtke, Roy Iverson, and Henry Embke.
Mrs. Helen C. Smith and Miss Mary Ann Smith sang, accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Nulton.
