Hembre, Mr./Mrs. Ingvald
(Silver - 6 JUL 1954)
A large group of friends and relatives gathered at
the Arthur Ludwigsen residence (the former Mrs. Olive Hembre) home northeast of
Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and made a real warm and rich friendly occasion of
the 25th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Ingvald Hembre.
It
was regretted that all their children could not be present. Donald, the eldest
son, age 22, is on a Geology job in Colorado, his wife Carol and son Bobby are
spending the summer in DeForest. Dorothy, age 19, is working on the S.S. North
American on Lake Michigan, and Jim, age 16, is working at the Masonic Home Farm
at Dousman. John, Age 10, was their only child present.
On Tuesday, July
6th (the actual date), an open house was held in the church parlors of the
Bethel Lutheran Church at Hawkins, Wis., the former home of Mrs. Hembre, for the
friends and relatives of that community.
The Hembres felt highly honored
to have as one of their guests, the Rev. F.A. Schlotz of Glen Head, N.Y.,
formerly of Ladysmith, the newly elected president of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church of America.
