Miller, Ernest F. (15 Apr. 1883 - 5 Apr. 1957)

Ernest F. Miller died at his home in Colby unexpectedly Friday night at about 11:30 P.M. of coronary thrombosis. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Justin Gray, Willard Becherer, Lawrence Clark, Roy Clark, Merlin Schuette, Walter Lipprandt.

Mr. Miller, a retired farmer, was born in Cleveland, Wis., on April 15, 1883, thus reaching the age of 73 years, 11 months and 26 days. He married Martha Trester of Curtiss on April 13, 1912 after which they moved onto a farm in the town of Colby which they operated until 1941 when they moved to the city of Colby, Wis. He held the office of elder of the Evangelical and Reformed church for many years.

Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Louise) Schmidt of Minneapolis; four sons, Edward of Normal, Ill., Clarence of Loyal, Raymond of Duluth and Lester of Abbotsford; six sisters, Mollie Clark of Owen, Mary Miller of Segourney, Iowa, Emma Goetz of Cleveland, Ohio, Hattie Botterud of Los Angeles, Calif., Selma Ledfors of Riverside, Calif., Rose Neu of Chicago, Ill., one brother, William, address unknown; and eight grand children. His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Miller was well known here for his fine Christian character, honest in all his dealings, and being of a friendly and kindly disposition, had many friends who were sorry to hear of his sudden death.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schmidt of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller of Duluth, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Lester Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hoerner of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Miller of Loyal, Mrs. Rose Neu of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Pollnou, Mrs. Anna Lipprandt, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ludwig, Mrs. Mollie Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clark of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lipprandt and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas of Curtiss, Mrs. Mary Trester and Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Trester of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Pollnow of Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Schuette of Loyal.
