Hoff, George (4 Mar. 1886 - 9 Apr. 1957)

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Christ Lutheran church in Abbotsford Saturday for George Hoff of Abbotsford, Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating, and internment was made in the Dorchester cemetery.

Mr. Hoff was born on March 4, 1886, in the town of Little Black, Taylor county. On December 30, 1912, he married Miss Martha Brechlin at Dorchester, Wis. For 32 years, he operated a hardware and grocery business in Curtiss. Three years ago, he retired and moved to Abbotsford, Wis. Several weeks ago, he suffered a stroke and was a patient at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital until April 6th when he was brought home for care. Death occurred April 9th.

Surviving are his widow, three daughters and one son - Mrs. John (Dorothy) McCorison of Owen, Mrs. Howard (Myrtle) Stoltenberg of Wittenberg, Mrs. Lawrence (Ethel) Boardman of Thorp, Harley C. Hoff of San Mateo, Calif. Also 11 grand children, one brother, Henry Hoff of Appleton, three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Lizzie) Adams of Milwaukee, Mrs. E. K. (Alice) Evenson of Oshkosh and Mrs. Oscar (Lucy) Pueschner of Stetsonville. Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
