Vandehey, Daniel (29 Dec. 1875 - 23 May 1957)
The body of Daniel Vandehey, a former resident of Colby, is scheduled to arrive in Colby Wednesday from Pomora, Calif., to lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Friday morning at 9:30 with Rev. John B. Pinion officiating. Internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.
Mr. Vandehey died last Thursday at the age of 82 in Pomona, Calif., where he was spending the winter months. Death was due to complications resulting from a hip injury. He was born on December 29, 1875, in Appleton and married Julia Laessig on June 26, 1900. She died in January, 1943. They lived in Colby a few years prior to that date. For the past several years he had been living with a son in Wisconsin Rapids.
Surviving are four sons, Maynard of Wisconsin Rapids and Harold, Lawrence and Ralph of California; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Neibauer of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Arthur Wiedenhoeft of Colby and Sister M. Antilla of Carroll, Iowa, 20 grand children, 25 great grand children, three sisters and two brothers.
