Zimmerman, Emanuel L. (March 19, 1915 - November 5, 2008)
Emanuel L. Zimmerman, 93, Unity, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Marshfield Care Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 8, at Calvary Bible Church, Marshfield.
Pastor Craig Connor and Pastor Joe Everett presided. and music will be provided by organist, Connie Koopman, pianist, Julie Vehrs and vocal quartet, Grant and Melissa Reckner and Dan and Cara Mook.
Burial will take place in Beaver Cemetery in the Town of Beaver, Clark County and serving as pallbearers will be Grant Reckner, Dan Mook, Eugene Prien, Harold Boyer, Tom Weis, and Steve Weis.
The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Saturday from 12:30 pm until service time at Calvary Bible Church.
Mr. Zimmerman was born on March 19, 1915, in the Town of Unity to Gustav and Emma (Baum) Zimmerman.
He attended Sunshine School in the Town of Unity, Wis.
He and Berdine P. Molle were united in marriage on December 15, 1942, in Riplinger.
The Zimmermans farmed in the Town of Unity where the resided for 65 years. They then lived in Black Country Manor in Spencer from August 2007 until February 2008 when they moved to Marshfield Care Center.
He was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Dorchester for many years where he served as Sunday School superintendent.
Emanuel enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Berdine; a daughter, Paulette (Ken) Reckner; a son, David Zimmerman, all of Marshfield. He is also survived by two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Sam (Ila) Zimmerman, Minneapolis, MN.
Emanuel is predeceased by his parents; a sister, Edna in infancy; an siblings Armin, Laura, Ethan and John Zimmerman.
Memorials may be designate din his name to Calvary Bible Church, Marshfield, or to the United Methodist Church, Dorchester, Wis.
Maurina/Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
