North, Helen (9 December 1883 - 4 October 1970)
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Herman (Helen)
North, wife of a prominent Neillsville banker, who died Sunday at the age of 86
following an extended illness. The service was held from the Georgas Funeral
Home, with the Rev. George Yons of the United Church of Christ in charge. Burial
was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. North was born December
9, 1883, in Neillsville, the daughter of the late William J. and Bertie (Wells)
Marsh. She was a graduate of Neillsville High School and of the University of
Wisconsin, where she was a member of Phi Beta Phi sorority. Before her marriage
to Mr. North on August 15, 1914, Mrs. North worked as a legal secretary for
Homer Clark, who then was serving as district attorney for Clark County. She had
been a Neillsville resident all her life.
Surviving besides Mr. North are
two daughters, Mrs. Delbert (Patricia) Struble of Neillsville, and Mrs. Janet
Pree of Excelsior, Minn.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
