Ockerl, Henry (3 January 1877 - 29 September 1970)
Funeral services for
Henry Ockerl, 93, of Neillsville, who died September 29, were held last Friday
at 2 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael G. Mertens officiated.
Burial was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
Mr. Ockerl was born January
3, 1877, in Austria to Michael and Amelia (Feark) Ockerl. He came to the United
States as a young man on March 3, 1909, settling in Milwaukee. He move to Clark
County in 1930 and married the former Helen Eince on July 12, 1933, in
Neillsville. They farmed in the Town of Hendren until 1945 and then moved to the
city of Neillsville. Four years ago he moved into Memorial Home.
Survivors include his wife and three children, Mrs. Paul (Rose) Kuenkel and
Harry, both of Neillsville, and Mrs. Joe (Ida) Volovsek of Greenwood; and 10
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Ray Wetzel, Clarence Wegner, M. D.
Meyer, Alfred Kuenkel, Robert Ockerl and Louis Duge.
People from
out-of-town included: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Duge and family of Fairchild; Mrs. Anna
Volovsek, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Volovsek and family and Mr. and Mrs. Al Volovsek of
Willard; and Mrs. Mary Klune of Greenwood.
