Alexander Cross, 14 Aug 1838 - 25 Aug 1892
Alex Cross was born in Schoharie Co., New York, 14 Aug 1838, the son of Andrew and Mary Cross. Alexander fought in the Civil War with the 7th Wis., Co. A, as a private. 29 May 1875, Alexander married Mary Jane (adopted by the Dudley family) Wessell, who was born 24 Jan 1855 in Brooklyn, New York. They were members of the Congregational Church of Neillsville, Wisconsin. Their only daughter was named, Helen. Their son, Harry A. Cross died suddenly, 13 Mar 1910, in Dundee, Illinois after a brief illness.
When he died, 25 Aug 1892, less than 2 weeks following his fifty-fourth birthday, he was laid to rest in the Neillsville, Wisconsin City Cemetery.
