Brecke, Ellen L. (28 FEB 1948)

Given in marriage by her brother, Edward, Miss Ellen LaNae Brecke, daughter of Mrs. Anna Brecke, Stetsonville, became the bride of William J. Werner on Saturday, Feb. 28, 1948. The Rev. V. R. Miller read the nuptial service at the home of the bride’s mother.

The bride was gowned in white ninon. Her fingertip veil was draped over a headdress fashioned with a double row of lace. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses centered with a white orchid.

The bride’s sister, Miss Mary Lou Brecke, as maid of honor, and Miss Shirley Wild, Medford, as bridesmaid, wore gowns of white ninon and heart shaped bonnets which tied under the chin. Both attendants carried mixed bouquets of white and pink carnations.

The bridegroom was attended by two of his brothers, Clifford as best man and Clarence as groomsman.

Following the 2 o’clock ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride and dinner was served to 50 guests.

Mrs. Werner, a graduate of the Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) High School, is a member of the 1948 graduating class of the Taylor Co. Normal School. Mr. Werner is a graduate of the Medford High School.

The couple will reside at Medford where the bridegroom is employed by the Medford City Utilities Co.
